Not gonna lie, it’s pretty fantastic.
(Ft. The TrailBlazer, which is for sale and should totally be purchased, along with the Journey in the background)

Which engine did he get?

3.5 EcoBoost aka, “The Only Way.”

I’d say much better than a truck that says RAMMMM!!! on the front

I agree, plus I think the 3.5 EcoBoost is the 22R or the AMC/Jeep 4.0 I-6 of the 2010's, so there’s a bit of a bias.

That’s the exact configuration I came up with on the configurator. Color and all.

It’s an XLT, with Katzkin leather and Sync 3 without navigation.

Did he buy it used? Or is the dealer adding leather?
![]() 04/15/2016 at 23:56 |

It’s new and the dealer added leather for free.

My favorite wheel style on the latest F-150. I think those are the sport wheels?

No. No it’s not. While it is fairly reliable, once they start putting on miles, they like to have carbon related issues. It’s a great engine, but it’s no 22R or AMC 4.0.

Yeah, he got the sport package because chrome is gross.

No.

Ford claims they have fixed that, and I’d like to trust them. Plus, a friend of his just drove here from Florida with 165,000 on his 2012 FX4 EcoBoost and he has had zero issues. I was exaggerating when I compared it to the 22R and the AMC 4.0, because the EcoBoost had power and the former two have neither.

I’d like to buy into the whole “turbocharged gas everything” idea, but right now the technology is not there so that it belongs in a truck.
Plus, as of yet it doesn’t actually increase gas mileage, it just changes how much gas you use when you’re under a heavy load, or higher RPM
